Equity & Inclusion Leadership Alliance

We envision a vibrant, safe, equitable Nevada County where all community members and visitors thrive, feel welcome, and care for each other in support of our differences.

What is EILA?

EILA is a collective of leaders from across Nevada County working toward a more diverse and welcoming community through cross-institutional reflection, accountability, education, and reform.  One of the key goals of EILA is to actively take a stand for inclusion and against hate, to help create a culture of allyship in the community, and to shift exclusionary/biased narratives in the community to narratives of acceptance and that everyone is welcomed. To reach our goals, EILA is committed to responding to incidents of bias and hate in the community and implementing and sharing best practices for equity within our organizations and in the community.

Our Goals

Increase diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within EILA organizations and in the community.
Actively take a stand for inclusion, and against hate through visible leadership for equity.
Create a culture of upstander/allyship and increased awareness within EILA, EILA member organizations, and in the community.
Shift exclusionary and/or biased narratives in the community to narratives of acceptance and that everyone is welcomed.
